So Ella has mastered riding her bike. She basically self taught herself. She's quite independent and would get more frustrated if we tried to help here. So after a few weeks of just playing/practicing, she's mastered it.
She has reallllly wanted to go on a bike ride ever since. So today she talked me in to riding our bikes to the gym today. So I packed Keera and Jett in the bike carrier (a work out in it's self!) and got Ella organized, and off we went. She did really great. A few rules I forgot to go over before we headed out:
1) No stopping!! Don't just stop in the middle of riding. (I had her ride in front of me so I could watch her) her constant stopping drove me nuts! I don't know how many times I almost ran over her.
2) Don't look back at Mom. I assured her I would not run her over (as long as she pre-warned me before she stopped). She would always look back then get way off course ect.
She had a blast on the ride there, but was pretty tired on the way back. Complained about her legs hurting ect. She stopped and started I don't know how many times, I was about to lose it. I tried to convince her that it is more work to stop and start than just to ride continuously at a slow pace. I don't think I could have gone any slower on the ride home. Try starting and stopping while towing almost 80lbs!!
But all in all I was quite excited to have accomplished this. I was sad that I would be able to do much riding this summer because I can't tow 3 kids. But now that Miss Ella is getting the hang of it, we can do some shorter bike rides! I just need to whip her in to shape :)
Way to go Lara!!!! Glad you didn't run her over. P.S. You spelt border wrong in your title ;)
