First... but not the last I'm sure..

So Jett had his first big tumble today.
He fell down our deck stairs. He was playing Russian roulette and I was just getting off my seat, half stride there when he started his decent. It seriously seemed like it took him 5min to fall down the stairs, and I was chasing after him but just couldn't catch him, I could hear myself screaming at ever step he hit! He landed on soft grass, but still bouncing down wooden steps has got to HURT! I just yelled at the girls to get inside with me and for once they listen well.

Once I got him in side and assessed the situation, I felt he was fine. It didn't get to the ugly crying, which is good. After some cuddles and a drink from his bottle he was fine. He does have a bit of road rash on the side of his one eye, and not really a black eye, but a bruised/red/swollen one. I wonder what it will look like tomorrow. Yes I know I should have a pic, I will take one tomorrow. 20min after the incident he was roaming around, being himself. So all ended well. Until the next time the boy in him comes out.

I'm glad I have at least one kid here, or else I think I'd be really lonely!

Saturday

So been enjoying my time.. Jett had a big nap this morning 10am-12:15pm so we went out shopping afterwards.. I found a great deal on dish towels, 6 for $1.50 (that's only .25 each!!) and remembered this crafty thing I'd seen on a blog somewhere.. so here it is... baby shorts made out of a dish cloth... I'm pretty sure this will be the only time Jett with have them on. Expecially when Jayme comes home. he he he. Maybe they will fit on Keera's skinny but better :)

And.. this is what I am doing tonight....*ahhhhhh* ok I probably won't eat alll the mini eggs, but they were 75% off.. how can a girl turn that down? There was a whole basket full...but I restrained my self to the amount shown (well maybe i've eaten a bag or 2 already *grin*) (oh and I almost finished off the quilt underneath my treats. I just need to find big black buttons to put in the centre of each square and properly edge it and then another quilt is done! and this one matches one that I finished off in January (you can see a bit of it, Jett is laying on it in above photo)

5am vs. 6:30am

I lucked out and got the 6:30am... unfortunately Jayme got stuck with 5am. YIKES! I would not be a happy camper! + the girls didn't get to bed till 11:30pm last night. Can we say early naps??? They were probably excited when they woke and found out they were sleeping beside each other, a first for them, and it confirmed our suspicions this will not work for another year or 3.

So you know what I am enjoying the most so far? the PEACE and QUIET. Oh how I've missed that. and also just the calm energy in the house when there isn't a 3 and 4 year old tearing thru the house, fighting over toys and yelling at the top of their lungs. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Well I'm off to stock up on microwave meals. I'm sticking to my guns. I'm not cooking. or baking. We need bread but I might break down and BUY some (haven't done that since I got my Bosch from Jayme for Christmas!)

ta ta for now....

A Different Kind of Weekend

So we were to go to Calgary this weekend, but plans changed and now Jayme has taken the girls down south to visit Great Grandma+Grandpa and their cousins (whom Ella is CRAZY about). It was all kinda spur of the moment so I'm still in kind of shock that I have the next 2.75 days to myself (well me and my little man).

So one thing I decided was I was going to do as little cooking as possible. I went and got a sub for diner! Yum! I'll have to think what options I have for tomorrow as I don't want to eat to 'bad'. And I will need to go get some chocolate at some point tomorrow.

So I gave Jett I think his first alone bath tonight! He kept him self pretty amused. He likes playing with the tub drain and thus had very little water in the tub by the end of the bath. It was kinda good he was solo tonight in the bath as he POOPED in the tub tonight. Again a first for him. Lucky for Mom he's a marble pooper.. pretty easy to scoop and flush. (ahhh what we do as Mothers!)

Not sure what's on the plan for tomorrow. Maybe some sewing/crafting? Maybe some shopping? Maybe some napping? hmmm all sound so temping! We'll see how I feel in the morning. Oh and I TAPED Jett's blind to his wall in hopes of encouraging some sleep in time for me tomorrow. I'm sure not having Ella serenade the house with Jingle Bells at the top of her lungs will help with this.

Crafty Times...

So been spending some evenings being 'crafty'....

1st is a new table cloth (really just a funky pc of fabric I really liked) and on top....

is just a pc of vinyl edged with elastic to stay on your table top. FANTASTIC if you have kids who are messy eaters (really, what kids aren't). You get keep the fancy, pretty look, but is functional in that it wipes up so easy!

Next was a tote...made from a fairly stiff outdoor canvas, but turned out cute! I passed this on to my MIL.

I love this next one! I call it my re-usable ziplock bag. I love ziplocks, and this functions the same, just a catch all bag, but you can easily see what's in side. These were crazy easy and inexpensive to make, REALLY. You can make what ever size to suit your needs.

Finally is this diaper clutch.. which I am smitten with, but it is spoken for as a gift, for my neighbour who is due May 1st with a little girl.

MIA

So I know I've been mia.. guess that's what happens when you have 3 kids at home, at lots of company! We love that know that it's warming up the visitors start coming! We love company! I've also been ignoring my blog as I have another writing responsibility to get done, but have been procrastinating at it! Hopefully soon, then I can start blogging again :)
Until then, yes we are all still alive and well. :)
